WoodLab Terms and Limited Warranty
Last Updated: February 18, 2026
WoodLab LLC handcrafts high-quality, durable, and sustainable solid wood furniture, art, and home goods using locally sourced urban-rescued, kiln-dried hardwoods, eco-conscious epoxy resins, and low-VOC or non-toxic finishes.
Because each piece is individually crafted from natural materials, variation is inherent and proper care and performance expectations should be understood by all clients prior to purchase.
A. TERMS OF SALE
1a. Estimates & Approval
Upon written approval of an estimate, quote, or invoice by the Client, the project is considered authorized for production. WoodLab will issue an invoice reflecting the agreed scope of work.
Quotes are valid for the timeframe stated and are subject to material availability and cost fluctuations.
2a. Payment Terms
Custom furniture and commissioned art require substantial upfront investment in materials and labor.
For custom pieces:
-
100% of the total invoice (excluding shipping, if applicable) is due prior to production unless otherwise agreed in writing.
-
Sales tax will be applied where required by law.
-
Payments may be made by check, wire transfer, ACH, or approved credit card through WoodLab’s invoicing system.
Production will not begin until payment is received.
3a. Refunds & Cancellations
Due to the custom nature of our work, refunds are not guaranteed.
If a project is cancelled:
-
Prior to material procurement: A partial refund may be considered.
-
After materials have been purchased: Refunds may be reduced by material and administrative costs.
-
After slabs have been modified, milled, cut, joined, poured with epoxy, or otherwise materially altered: Refunds are generally prohibited.
If WoodLab is unable to complete a project due to circumstances within our control, a partial or full refund may be issued at our discretion.
Each situation will be evaluated individually.
4a. Timeframes
Estimated build timelines are provided in good faith based on current scheduling and material availability.
Delays may occur due to:
-
Scope changes
-
Client approval delays
-
Material sourcing
-
Equipment failure

Environmental conditions affecting wood or resin cure

Other unforeseen events
Reasonable extensions may be requested and mutually agreed upon.
B. LIMITED WARRANTY
WoodLab warrants its products to be free from defects in construction materials and workmanship for:
-
Two (2) years from delivery in residential settings
-
One (1) year from delivery in commercial settings
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
1b. Warranty Coverage & Exclusions
This Limited Warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Scratches, dents, or surface damage from use

- Improper cleaning or maintenance
- Use of harsh chemicals or non-approved cleaning products

Natural Wood Movement
Solid wood is a living material and will expand and contract in response to humidity and temperature changes. Minor checking, separation, movement, or surface variation is normal and not considered a defect.
Environmental conditions outside recommended humidity ranges (35–55% relative humidity) may cause movement beyond typical expectations and void warranty coverage.
2b. Variations in Natural Materials
Each WoodLab piece is one-of-a-kind.
Variations in:
- Grain pattern
- Color
- Figure
- Voids
- Oxidation
- Natural distressing
- Resin tone
- Texture
Are expected and are not considered defects.
Wood
We use urban-rescued kiln-dried hardwoods with a typical moisture content of 8–10%, considered optimal for structural integrity and stability at time of production.
Wood products must be maintained in environments between 35%–55% relative humidity. Failure to maintain proper environmental conditions may void warranty coverage.
Epoxy Resin
We utilize high-quality deep-pour epoxy resins designed for structural integrity and food-safe applications when fully cured. Minor surface variation or micro-movement at wood/resin junctions may occur due to environmental conditions.
Finishes
Our finishes are selected for durability and low toxicity. All care instructions must be followed. Failure to follow care guidance may void warranty coverage.
3b. Repair or Replacement
If a covered defect is identified within the warranty period, WoodLab will, at its sole discretion:
-
Repair the affected area, or
-
Replace the defective component
Exact grain or color matching cannot be guaranteed due to the natural characteristics of wood and resin.
Any repaired or replaced item remains covered only for the remainder of the original warranty period.
No cash refunds will be issued under warranty claims.
WoodLab’s total liability shall not exceed the original purchase price of the item. WoodLab shall not be liable for incidental, consequential, indirect, or special damages, including loss of business use, delay damages, installation costs, or third-party expenses.
Freight & Transportation Damage
Damage occurring during freight transportation is not covered under this Limited Warranty.
WoodLab’s responsibility for the product ends upon delivery to the freight carrier or completion of delivery to the Client, depending on shipping arrangement.
All deliveries must be inspected immediately at time of receipt. The Client must:
- Inspect exterior packaging prior to signing delivery receipt.
- Open and inspect contents as soon as reasonably possible.
- Photograph packaging before opening.
- Photograph product during unpacking.
- Note all visible damage on the carrier’s delivery receipt at time of delivery.
Failure to document damage on the delivery receipt may limit or void freight insurance claims.
Freight damage claims must be reported to WoodLab within 48 hours of delivery.
Resolution of freight claims may involve the freight carrier, freight broker, insurance provider, and/or third-party contractors. WoodLab does not guarantee claim approval by any carrier or insurer.
In any dispute arising from freight damage, the Client agrees to cooperate fully with WoodLab and the carrier in claim investigation and documentation.
Commercial Use
Commercial settings place increased strain on natural materials and finishes.
Improper cleaning, disinfectants, harsh chemicals, or abnormal wear will void warranty coverage. Refinish or restoration services may be contracted separately.
Exclusive Remedy
This Limited Warranty constitutes the exclusive warranty and remedy provided by WoodLab.
All other warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are expressly disclaimed to the fullest extent permitted by law.
No warranties extend beyond those described herein.
Acceptance
Purchase of any WoodLab product, whether in-showroom, online, at an event, or via invoice, constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Limited Warranty by the purchaser.
