Shipping policy
Last Updated: February 18, 2026
WoodLab LLC produces substantial, handcrafted solid wood furniture and art that require careful coordination and specialized handling. The following Shipping Policy governs all deliveries.
1. Production & Scheduling
Estimated production timelines are provided at the time of quote or invoice approval. These are estimates only and may vary due to:
- Material sourcing
- Custom design modifications
- Environmental factors affecting wood or resin curing
- Shop scheduling
- Unforeseen events beyond our control
Clients will be notified when a piece is ready to ship and delivery will be coordinated accordingly.
2. Freight & Delivery Method
Large furniture items typically ship via insured freight carrier.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
- Delivery is curbside.
- White-glove delivery may be available at additional cost.
- Client is responsible for ensuring safe and adequate access (doorways, hallways, stairways, elevators, jobsite readiness).
If delivery cannot be completed due to site inaccessibility or client scheduling issues, additional delivery or storage fees may apply.
LTL Freight Shipments
Large furniture pieces are commonly shipped via Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) freight carriers.
While shipments are insured, freight carriers operate independently of WoodLab. Approval or denial of freight damage claims is determined by the carrier or insurer according to their policies.
WoodLab will assist in claim coordination; however, WoodLab is not liable for carrier denial of claims.
Clients are strongly encouraged to:
- Schedule delivery during business hours when full inspection can occur.
- Refuse visibly damaged shipments if structural damage is suspected.
- Note “DAMAGED” clearly on all delivery paperwork when applicable.
3. Inspection Upon Delivery (Critical Requirement)
All items must be inspected immediately at delivery.
The Client must:
- Examine packaging for visible damage.
- Photograph all sides of packaging prior to opening.
- Photograph the piece during unpacking.
- Note any visible damage on the freight carrier’s delivery receipt before signing.
Failure to document damage at time of delivery may void freight insurance claims.
WoodLab must be notified within 48 hours of delivery if freight damage is discovered.
Freight damage is not covered under WoodLab’s Limited Warranty and must be addressed through the freight carrier’s insurance process.
4. Risk of Loss & Title Transfer
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, risk of loss transfers to the Client upon:
- Delivery and signing of freight receipt, or
- Acceptance of delivery at jobsite or residence.
Signing a delivery receipt without notation of damage constitutes acknowledgment that the shipment was received in acceptable condition.
WoodLab is not responsible for concealed damage claims that are not properly documented at time of delivery.
5. Storage & Delivery Delays
If a completed piece cannot be delivered within the agreed timeframe due to Client delay:
- Storage fees may apply.
- Additional handling or redelivery charges may be billed to the Client.
6. Liability Limitation
WoodLab’s total liability shall not exceed the original purchase price of the item.
WoodLab shall not be liable for incidental, consequential, indirect, or special damages, including loss of business use, delay damages, installation costs, or third-party expenses.
